There’s no event quite like Summer Sounds FM and even those familiar with the venue may have a few questions. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, we’ve addressed all your concerns and feedback. Here’s what you need to know before, during and after the show.

BEFORE THE SHOW

+ Can I bring my kids to the event?

Yes, all ages are welcome at Summer Sounds FM.

+ When do the gates open?

The gates open at 6:00 pm. We make our best effort to process guests as quickly as possible, however, arriving early will help to avoid lines.

+ Where do I enter the event?

All field, general admission seating, and premium seating ticket holders enter through Shell Place's West Entrance. Suite Holders enter through Shell Place's East Entrance.

+ What if I am late to the event?

Though we always recommend arriving early if possible, this shouldn't be an issue.

+ Are there shuttle services?

There will not be any shuttles servicing the event. RMWB transit have increased the frequency of services into MacDonald Island from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm and and extended services at MacDonald Island Park until 11:30 pm to accomodate the concerts. Check out their transit schedules to plan your day.

+ Is there free parking at the event?

A large portion of the parking lot is reserved for parking pass holders, however, the remaining spaces are to be filled on a first come, first serve basis.

+ How do I get a parking pass?

Reserved parking passes can be purchased online, and you will recieve an email with instructions to pick up your pass from will-call at the Shell Place Box Office (be sure to check your junk e-mail). Upon arrival, follow the right lane into the reserved parking section.

+ What items are prohibited?

All guests will be subject to a bag check, the following items will be strictly prohibited upon entry:

  • Outside food or beverage
  • Cameras, video cameras and recording devices
  • Air horns, megaphones, whistles, laser pointers
  • Weapons, explosives or firearms of any kind
  • Alcoholic beverages, drugs or any other illegal substances
  • Cans or bottles
  • Pets - with the exception of service animals
  • Lawn Chairs
  • Umbrellas
  • Balloons/Beach Balls
  • Drones
  • Coolers
  • Any other items deemed dangerous or inappropriate by security

+ Can I check personal items at the Box Office?

Items such as motorcycle helmets, jackets, and strollers can not be checked at the gate. Please contact the Box Office with any extenuating circumstances by phone 780-793-6969 or email boxofficereservations@rrcwb.ca

+ Is this event accessible?

Shell Place supports barrier-free access for guests with mobility concerns. We have expanded our accessible parking space, which may be filled free of charge on a first come, first serve basis.

The stadiums at Shell Place have limited barrier-free seating available for mobility challenged guests. To purchase accessible seating please contact the Shell Place Box Office at 780-793-6969. Shell Place does not rent or supply wheelchairs for patrons.

+ Do you accept credit or debit?

While some vendors accept credit and debit, there are a select few, such as artist merchandise, that accept cash only. There are ATM's on site.

DURING THE SHOW

+ How do I get access to the field?

Field access is reserved for field ticket holders only. Tickets will be checked at the access point, be sure to keep your ticket on you at all times.

+ Where can I buy artist merchandise?

Artist merchandise is available to all guests in the Square at Summer Sounds FM, please refer to the grounds map.

+ Are there designated smoking areas?

In compliance with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo bylaws, Shell Place is a smoke free facility, including electronic cigarettes and vaporizers. Guests wishing to smoke may do so by proceeding to the nearest designated smoking area or entrance and must be at least 10 meters away from any doorway, window, or air intake. Smoking sections will be marked with signage.

+ Where can I get food and beverages?

Beverage bars and food concessions are located on the main concourse and on the field. Food truck eats can be found in the Square at Summer Sounds FM.

+ What is the re-entry policy?

Guests who wish to exit and re-enter the event must go to the back of line and are subject to a security check upon entry. Please keep your ticket on you at all times.

+ Where are restrooms located?

Restrooms are located in the main concourse, on the field and in the Square at Summer Sounds FM. We have increased the locations and the amount of restrooms to accomodate the capacity of the events.

+ How can I get free Summer Sounds FM Swag?

Team members are distributing Summer Sounds FM swag at the Information Booth, centrally located just after the entry-gate. Try to arrive early as quantities are limited!

+ Safety and Security

Guest safety is our first priority. Medical staff will be on site at the First Aid tent. Security will be on site, do not hesitate to report any sightings of conflict or danger to personnel.

While it's important to have fun, we ask that you respect staff members and other guests. Monitor your alcohol consumption and please don't drink and drive.

AFTER THE SHOW

+ Where can I catch a taxi or bus?

A designated taxi line-up will be located just outside the Wood Buffalo Regional Library. Please be respectful of other guests and wait your turn for taxi pick-up.

RMWB transit buses will arrive at the bus stop located just outside the main doors of the Suncor Community Liesure Centre.

+ Will exit traffic be directed?

Yes. Due to the large capacity of the events, exit traffic will be directed off MacDonald Island Park. Please be respectful of traffic controllers and don't drink and drive.

+ Is there a lost and found?

On event day, lost belongings can be dropped off and returned at Box Office. Outside of the event dates please contact Guest Services at 780-791-0070

+ Where can I find the United Way 50/50 results?

The winning 50/50 number will be posted on the United Way Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo Facebook Page.
